She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch with her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2015 and received her bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in 2012. Over the past 11 years, Brynne has worked with children and families in diverse therapy settings including private practice clinics, early intervention, and within the public school system. Brynne specializes in helping children with Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, motor coordination difficulties, handwriting challenges, and other functional skill difficulties. She has completed various trainings through the STAR Institute on sensory processing and is also certified in using Integrated Listening Systems (iLs). Brynne has completed Handwriting Without Tears courses and is certified to administer their standardized assessment The Print Tool. Brynne is passionate about using a team-based approach to ultimately empower both child and family to achieve their unique goals. She has her bachelor's degree in exercise science from Creighton University. She has spent her career working in pediatrics, serving children and families with a variety of needs both in individual treatment sessions and group settings. Vanessa has specialized training in feeding therapy, which includes the SOS Approach to Feeding and Talks Tools Course: 3-Part Treatment Plan for OPT certifications. She is experienced in treating a range of needs and conditions, including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, Down Syndrome, dysgraphia, fine/gross motor delays, executive functioning needs, sensory processing, and self-regulation. She is a trained facilitator of the Secret Agent Society (SAS) Group Program. Vanessa utilizes a play-based approach to therapy that prioritizes each child's individuality and unique strengths when working toward their goals. This allows us to gain accurate information about your child’s specific abilities and therefore tailor our recommendations to help meet any needs. An initial evaluation takes place over a 1-to-2 hour period. This usually includes standardized assessments, parent interviews, record review, and skilled clinical observation of your child. After the evaluation is completed, a comprehensive report will then be written in approximately 2 weeks. This report will detail your child’s strengths, current levels of performance, recommendations, and therapy goals. Therapy duration and frequency can vary based on evaluation findings and the recommendations made. Sessions are typically 1-hour and consist of 50 minutes of direct treatment time with your child. The final 10 minutes of the session are used to discuss therapy details, strategies, take home activities, and allow for documentation. We love the team approach to therapy, therefore parents are encouraged to participate in sessions whenever possible.
