<image:title>Services - Children learn and grow through the primary occupations of play, self-care, social participation, and school performance.</image:title>
<image:caption>Pediatric Occupational Therapy facilitates child development through these avenues, which then promotes success across the lifespan. During Occupational Therapy, these childhood occupations are analyzed within the family’s context and broken down into smaller foundational pieces of the bigger developmental puzzle. Some of these foundational pieces include sensory processing, motor planning/praxis, strength, coordination, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, handwriting, visual motor skills, social pragmatic skills, executive functioning, and many more. Made to Play looks at the whole child to help determine the appropriate next steps for completing the puzzle.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Initial Evaluations</image:title>
<image:caption>It is best practice for each child to have a current evaluation before therapy can begin. This allows us to gain accurate information about your child’s specific abilities and therefore tailor our recommendations to help meet any needs. An initial evaluation takes place over a 1-to-2 hour period. This usually includes standardized assessments, parent interviews, record review, and skilled clinical observation of your child. After the evaluation is completed, a comprehensive report will then be written in approximately 2 weeks. This report will detail your child’s strengths, current levels of performance, recommendations, and therapy goals. Next, a Parent + Therapist Consultation is scheduled to go over the results of the evaluation.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Parent + Therapist Consultation</image:title>
<image:caption>Once an evaluation report is completed, a 1-hour Parent + Therapist Consultation will be scheduled to review results of the evaluation, discuss recommendations being made, and collaborate on additional family-centered goals.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Individual Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>At Made to Play Pediatrics, we strive to make therapy a fun experience and something to look forward to for every child. Therapy duration and frequency can vary based on evaluation findings and the recommendations made. Sessions are typically 1-hour and consist of 50 minutes of direct treatment time with your child. The final 10 minutes of the session are used to discuss therapy details, strategies, take home activities, and allow for documentation. We love the team approach to therapy, therefore parents are encouraged to participate in sessions whenever possible. After each session, a detailed treatment note including take home activities/strategies will be sent to you.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Re-Evaluation</image:title>
<image:caption>Re-evaluations are commonly recommended every 6 months, but can occur at 3-, 9-, or 12-month intervals depending on the child’s specific needs. The re-evaluation process mirrors the initial evaluation process and includes a detailed progress update on all goals. Once the Re-Evaluation report is written, progress details and recommendations will be discussed during the Parent + Therapist Consultation.</image:caption>
